Our Compound Offering
A solution for the uniqueness of every situation and application
Rubber comes in many forms. In order to extract the best quality and performance rubber has to offer it must be understood that different applications call for the formulation of different compounds and we are truly adept at analysing, understanding and recommending the best compound suited to our clients needs.
It is also important to think beyond the idea that the best possible formulation is the be all and end all of compound choice. What we mean by this is that sometimes the price point of the best compound formulation does not equate to the best value for our clients and that given the tremendous adaptability rubber has, experimentation plays a role in accessing factors like price point verses wear rate ratios.
By thinking out of the box in this regard we are often able to assist our clients in stretching their budgets further and enabling their operations to run more smoothly
Our compounder relationships
RubberMODS has numerous relationships with wholesale rubber compound manufacturers across South Africa.
We work closely with our compounding suppliers to obtain the best quality and best raw material price points for our customers to ensure that we balance competitive pricing with consistent quality and performance.
Mining Compound Offering
On the mining side of our operation, we mould with two predominant high performance wear resistant compounds which both possess excellent wear characteristics, fantastic impact resistance, leading cut and tear resistance and outstanding abrasion loss qualities.
Both perform tremendously well relative to their price points, and we are constantly working to discover new methods and means of improving the different compound streams we offer in mining applications.
Compound Name
NBR65
• Colour: Black
• Hardness: 65 shore +- 5
• Tensile strength: 16 MPA
• Elongation at break: 460%
• Abrasion loss: 130mm cubed
NBR65 is an excellent impact and wear resistance compound and has proven itself in the market over the 7 years we have been utilising it. it is our most popular client choice given its lower cost verses the value it delivers. NBR65 has the added benefit of being an environmentally friendly compound as 80% of it’s makeup is derived from unvulcanised compound which can no longer be used by the tyre industry and would otherwise find its way into waste facilities. This compound combined with our in house ability to mix rubber and ensure formulation consistency makes it a fantastic choice for budget conscious clients who are also performance driven.
Compound Name
NBR102
• Colour: Black
• Hardness: 60 shore +- 5
• Tensile strength: 19 MPA
• Elongation at break: 560%
• Abrasion loss: 70mm cubed
NBR102 is a compound which has impressive abrasion and tear resistance. it is a popular choice for ball mill liners which need more robust abrasion loss characteristics, but it is roughly 30% more expensive per 100mm thick square meter than NBR65. Another advantage NBR102 has is that it is always readily available whereas the availability of NBR65 is largely determined by the demand for tyres and the propensity of tyre manufactures to offload compound they are not utilizing.
